![]() This definitely goes with the vibe of the place, and I can understand that locals are probably very used to him and even probably really like him. He didn't seem to care about us at all, even though we were the only ones in the bar, and he even made some sarcastic remarks when my mom asked legitimate questions. We even asked him questions about the bar and the hotel, but he never once looked up from his phone when answering (quite the millennial thing to do, for a baby boomer), which was very rude. But, he basically seemed annoyed with us the entire time we were there. He definitely seemed trained and got them to us in a timely fashion, so we can't complain about that. However, the older bartender who was there was sub-par for sure. The drinks were well made but honestly very odd-tasting. The decor is ok, I totally understand the concept though and get what they are going for. There were six of us, so we took a big seating area on the side. We stopped in here as we were staying at the Dean. Overall, the Strand is a great Venue to see shows and also get a feel for the great City of Providence. Providence is a great little City that is easy to navigate, just minutes from Route 95, filled with excellent Restaurants and fun Bars. Being located right in Downtown Providence also has advantages for any plans you may have for after the shows, with several Bars and Restaurants all within a very short walking distance of the Strand. These Lots generally charge $20.00 during Events like last night Probably a good idea to get there a little early, close to when they open their doors to find parking close by. However, there are plenty of available parking lots in the area of downtown Providence. The only consideration is finding parking, as the Venue itself doesn't offer any. The Venue had several Bars along all sides and a couple towards the Backside, so there was practically no wait to get your drinks, and they served drinks all night, which was much appreciated. The sound was good and we enjoyed the experience. The Stage wasn't all that far from where we were seating even though we were in the very last row of seating, so we could see everyone in the Band clearly. We sat on the Main Level in the last Row of Seats before the Standing Room Only Area. Getting in was quick and orderly, and all the Bar Staff and Security were cool and friendly. The show started at 8:30 PM, and their doors opened at 7:30 PM. The Venue has a Main Level and a smaller Balcony Level upstairs. Located in Downtown Providence at 79 Washington Street. Nice small Venue with really no bad seats due to the cozy size. ![]() Went to see Get the LED Out, a Led Zeppelin Tribute Band. Everyone is trying to squeeze every cent out of you everywhere and it's getting old. If you don't know what this means, I'll translate it for you: "Could you do us the favor of helping us avoid the credit card fees associated with those tips by using cash which you probably aquired though your own ATM fees?" I think that's kind of a bold request seeing as that the ridiculous system we have in the US already makes it so that we pay nearly the entire salary of a server above and beyond the cost of a meal. Then finally I get the check and the bottom says "Please consider paying your tips in cash." But you know how that goes.now everyone eats at different times. They very kindly refunded the price of that pizza and made a new one. ![]() ![]() See the picture of this sorry looking thing. So she got just pepperoni, and BOY was it skimpy. So my daughter wanted to get a personal pepperoni and bacon pizza. $13 for a personal cheese, and $3 for each "premium" topping. Then the pricing structure on building your own personal pizza was pretty high. ![]() Pizza was about like cafeteria food, if you closed your eyes and were honest about what you tasted. But we found the food to be pretty subpar. The beer was decent, and that's important for a Brewery obviously. They had a nice little atmosphere set up, but nothing too interesting. ![]()
